After Bhutto

Pakistani Mohammed Banglori prays during a prayer service at the Darul Uloom Institute in Pembroke Pines, Fla. Banglori expressed sadness for the assasination of Benezir Bhutto, but also said that he knew something like this would happen upon her return from exile. "These people are walking dead," another member said, adding that a high profile and an anti-government position is a dangerous way to live in Pakistan.

Breakdown

Florida's Governor Charlie Crist takes a moment to hold back the tears as he speaks to a crowd of newly naturalized citizens at the Miami Beach Convention Center on Wednesday. Crist, the grandson of an immigrant, spoke about how proud his grandfather would be to know that his grandson was governor of one of the largest states in America.

Here's a couple pics from a story i want to knock out before I leave FL. Cuban Pete, his real name is Pedro Aguilar and he's actually Puerto Rican, is a legend in Latin dance. He's credited with inventing the mambo and hundreds of latin dance moves from his glory days dancing at the Palladium in New York in the 50's, where salsa, the mambo, and countless other styles gained popularity. Recently we went to a salsa competition and people there call him "maestro," which means The Master in Spanish. He and his dancing partner, Barbara Craddock are dead set on preserving their original style of dance. They're mostly disgusted with the new wave of salsa twirling and fancy spin moves.

Pro Picketer

Sherman Woods considers himself a professional picketer. He's not affiliated with the group of protesting workers. The union pays him $8.50 an hour for about five hours a day to show up, carry the sign, and holler along with the rest of them. Woods said he works about 25 hours a week, as a picketer. I thought this was interesting, and somehow very wrong.
